BETH LYNDON

I craft expansive mixed media collages, drawing inspiration from the  vibrant palette and geometric forms of Henri Matisse. My aim is to captivate viewers with immersive experiences, using  large-scale imagery featuring landscapes, animals, plants and human figures and faces. I want to draw you in, encouraging you to appreciate the finer details and marvel at the layered creative process.

At the core of my motivation is the interaction between the artist and the viewer. I delight in the moment of curiosity when you lean into a piece, discovering the intricate composition of the delicately cut paper and newsprint, complemented by subtle paint strokes.

I pursued art in my undergraduate studies at Colorado College in Colorado Springs, CO and the Sorbonne University in Paris, France. My focus spanned life drawing, sculpture and printmaking. Following the completion of my bachelors degree I dedicated three decades to pursuing adventure and passion. This journey took me from working on fishing boats and docks throughout Alaska to rock climbing across the United States and achieving success in professional mountain bike racing, including a victory at the World Championships in Australia in 1996. Along the way I became an accomplished physical therapist and a bicycle racing coach, embracing motherhood with the  joys (and challenges) of raising two amazing children. In the last decade, I’ve reignited my passion for art, now realizing my life long aspiration as a full time artist crafting commissions and creating new pieces with paper, glue and scissors.
